Zachary Zakanj

Hi There! My name is Zachary,

I am a student osteopath completing my 5th year of study at RMIT university. Becoming an osteopath has grown to become one of my greatest desires over the course of the last 5 years. A fascination in the human body and its ability to function the way it does is where it all started. I have worked hard to be able to make this fascination on the human body my new reality.

This Portfolio will outline my progression, accomplishments, employment and ambitions in my future as an osteopath.

I have always been an active individual, I loved physical activity and participated in many sports over the years. In the height of my footballing career I had suffered a major injury to my knee, rupturing my ACL along with many other ligamentous and cartilaginous issues. This difficult time led me to different forms of therapy and rehabilitation sparking my interest in holistic treatment methods and furthering my understanding of osteopathy.

I have a desire to work within the sporting industry, more specifically within football, AFL and basketball teams. I enjoy working with athletes as I have always shared a passion for their profession. This also allows for greater learning opportunities as an osteopath as there are many long standing professionals in the sporting industry. I would love to help develop a greater representation and understanding of osteopathy in the sporting industry and earning recognition for the profession.
